Cleaning Tips from the Pigsty

Okay, my house isn't truly a pigsty...it's messy, but not dirty (you can eat something prepared in my kitchen without hesitation)...but I'm not the world's greatest housekeeper. And to top it off, I'm a perfectionist: not the "good" kind, but the kind that says, "oh, I'm never going to get this mess under control, so why even try?"

I had a great, liberating moment the other day when I was cleaning the third-floor bathroom. The mop and bucket were all the way down in the basement--so, out of sheer laziness, I just got down on my hands and knees and started scrubbing the floor with Clorox wipes. Of course I've considered doing that before, but would chide myself for having such a wasteful idea. But, really...so what?!? The floor got clean, and it was easy!

So, I resolve to do the bathroom floors this way from now on. Now all I need is a bright, mopless idea for the kitchen.

  1. I like this idea. My mop head sponge is worn out and fell off. So now I have no good excuse not to clean the floors - which really need it. Why make life so complicated when you already have something that works. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Well, that’s definitely a new way to clean the bathroom floors, and you don’t even need to use a mop to do it! Haha. Just be cautious with using the Clorox though. You should have protective gear like gloves when cleaning the floor. If your skin gets exposed to the bleach for long time, it might cause skin irritation. Also, use a mask to avoid inhaling the cleaning solution.
